Think about some of the things we pay for. Food, petrol, water, gas… ohh and electricity.

A country independent from Soviet rule. Is it torn or united? Doesn’t really matter when electricity gets sold off.

Privatisation doesn’t bother me too much. Surely there will be competition… right?

This wasn’t the case in Georgia. Overpriced, Oppressive, Overdrawn. 3 areas which probably describe the company that provide electricity to Georgia. Its difficult to imagine living life without a basic commodity such as electricity. With some wages lower than the price of electricity and little welfare, who’s going to be able to pay up?

Well… you either pay, or get cut off.

Its already difficult for this country. Located south-east to Russia, one of its major trading partners, high rates of gas and a ban on imports of wine to the Russians has created problems for the country. Who do they trust? A former Soviet superpower or an American electrical corporation?

If you are still curious about the state of Georgia check out the film ‘Power Trip’ or take a look at the link below.

Tell me your life in 6 words.

February 11th, 2008 by Mickey

Hmmm, 6 words. How can I put my 20 years of living in 6 words?

Recently i’ve been introduced to BBC Radio 4, I know some shows on there are boring but they also have interesting and useful shows. For example, they have a game show where you must speak for a given topic for one minute. The catch is you can’t use the same verb, adverb, noun or adjective twice. Try it lets see how good your vocab is.

Enough representing BBC 4 now back to the blog, there was a programme about a book released in America with a collection of 6 word life stories. Anyone and everyone including famous writers had writen into the American show and submitted their 6 words.

So what 6 words would I say? Well Sach says his would be “Innocence to violence, dreams into reality”

Interesting. . . Wonder what Bhav would say? “Think Positive, have laughs, make change”

Dongs not in the office so he’s been let off thinking, so i guess it’s just me

Mines will have to be ”Lucky I met the right people”.
Now you know my story I’d be interested in yours, so please mail in your stories to info@wecomeone.co.uk.
Looking forward to hear from you.

(This is what we do in the office, sit around and make 6 word stories. We need real jobs)

Go Jump Out of a Plane!!!!!

February 1st, 2008 by Mickey

Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway, in an aircraft flying at 13,500 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears, with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air, freefalling at over 120mph! Then imagine the peace and quiet, as the canopy and the steering toggles open either side of you; you begin a tranquil parachute descent from 5000ft in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below. Well you can stop imagining, because it’s real!
